Questions and Answer: A Poem for the Broken-hearted

1

Blessing turned to a curse, why does it feel like so?
Do we chase after the love of the same ones who hurt our core?
Why you’d call love elusive when its home is inside the soul?
It’s just within, almost palpable, but do you know?

2

We settle for some love that makes one insecure.
A so called love that treats you special cos you are capable
Sweep their feet off the shaky ground so they’d feel secure
But in their eyes, you wonder why you seem invincible.

3

There’s too many more, all of‘em piercing holes?
With each defeat, does crying shame magnify a million fold?
And in all of this, are you by yourself? Is nobody home?
Can’t even bring yourself to grab a hand to hold?

4

Stretching to reach the farthest, hottest star. No ball.
And looking to possess that love that doesn’t need be owned.
Roam next to their giant fire, only to feel dangerously infinitesimal
The sparrow said to flick the compass and that is all.

5

You know the thing beating inside your chest?
Won’t it pound the walls and shake your inner crevices?
Won’t that be enough a sign to know if there’s still love left
Or isn’t it the trinket to summon the best one yet?

6

Blatantly corrupted... hacked over and over.
The malfunctioning contraption you call your heart is at war.
Held hostage, unwillingly beating for what your senses lust after.
All the while knowing the one is waiting not very far.

7

It’s been too heavy... but are you letting go now?.
Sad, both of you will have lost the love meant to conquer all
Giving up on the one who’ll love you like there’s no tomorrow
For days become one blissful moment that goes eternal.

8

The one will see you finally unbroken.
The one turns it around like nothing happened and so it’s over.
Every wickedness brought out by a thousand mental questions.
All of them dissipates. All the questions she is the answer.
